Buying, selling, or developing rural acreage means someone will eventually ask whether there are wetlands on the property. That question usually arrives late, from a lender, a county planner, or a buyer's inspector, and by then it is expensive to answer.

A wetland reconnaissance is the fast, front-end answer. It tells you whether wetland or stream features are likely present, roughly where they sit, and what that means for your timeline and your options. It is a preliminary, non-jurisdictional assessment, not a formal delineation and not a Corps Jurisdictional Determination, which is exactly why it costs a fraction of one and turns around in days instead of months.

Beyond the recon work, we work with clients for shellfish aquaculture permitting plus and projects that come with owning rural ground: well and municipal water sampling, soil testing, GPS mapping and photo documentation of site features, stream channel observations, and native and pollinator plantings.

Cattail Environmental Consulting is a small practice. You work directly with the person who walks your site and writes your report.
