Cattail Environmental Consulting LLC is an independent environmental consulting practice based in Chehalis, Washington, specializing in wetland reconnaissance and aquaculture permitting support.
The practice is run by Noel Llewellyn, who holds a Master of Natural Resources in Restoration Ecology and Habitat Management from the University of Idaho. She is professionally trained and has field-experience in wetlands, ordinary high water mark determinations, and stream surveys. Additionally, with more than nine years of work inside Washington's environmental regulatory system, she reads a parcel the way the agencies that will review it do. Noel previously worked for Washington Department of Natural Resources as an Aquaculture Specialist and currently assists shellfish growers with their permitting needs.
Cattail stays small on purpose. Every site visit, every report, and every phone call is handled by the same person, which is why turnaround is measured in days rather than in queue position.
Outside the practice, Noel has served for the past five years as Education Coordinator for the Lewis County Beekeeping Association, teaching new beekeepers and speaking on natural beekeeping and integrated pest management. It's the same instinct that runs through the rest of this work: most of what people need is a straight answer from someone who has actually done the thing. She spends her free time with her husband and children, climbing rocks, learning to play guitar and ukulele, and exploring whatever she can, in books, or in the outdoors.
Lewis, Thurston, Pierce, Grays Harbor, and Pacific counties, along the I-5 and US-101 corridors.
